the Viper 5901/5902, or Clifford's 330.3X, 50.7X, 590.2X. The thing is Viper alarms seem WAY more expensive for the same components and "proprietary" technologies that are (lol) used among other alarm manufacturers like Clifford. I'm left asking, what am I really paying for. Is the justification that Viper is pricey because the components rarely fail and the intelligence is that much better than Clifford & others, OR, that it's pricey because I'm paying for the name and functionality will be the same as others.I would say that I have the ability to install it myself, but it would take a while. My friend knows someone in the industry that has been installing alarms for years so I would likely have him do the install. I'm also dealing with somewhat of an unknown variable and that is tearing out an old Viper 600 alarm.... actually, I tore the brain/sensors out but left the wiring harness until a "pro" can safely demo everything out. As for the accessories, I'm aware they're extra and as long as my alarm has aux ports, shouldn't be a problem to install.
